Approved in 2006, JUVÉDERM® is one of the most common nonsurgical procedures. The treatment uses a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler to address facial signs of aging. There are multiple products designed to target specific facial lines and wrinkles. We recommend Juvederm as it has a smoother, gel-like consistency, making it easier for the body to absorb and restore hydration and volume to the skin. JUVÉDERM® is a minimally invasive procedure that uses microneedles to administer the hyaluronic acid into the treatment area gently. Injections only take a few minutes, and results can appear within a few hours following treatment. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body and stimulates the production of connective tissue that creates collagen, thereby adding volume to the skin. During the aging process, the body naturally starts to slow down hyaluronic acid production, and collagen will begin to decrease, causing wrinkling and sagging to occur.

During your visit, we will identify target areas and draw small pen marks on the treatment areas (in some cases). We will gently inject JUVÉDERM® into the target areas and gently massage the skin to help spread the gel-like hyaluronic acid around and limit the risk of swelling. To reduce pain and discomfort, JUVÉDERM® includes a small amount of lidocaine. Our skilled and estheticians make the treatment relatively painless and enjoyable! Following treatment, minor swelling, bruising, and redness may occur. If you experience serious side effects, including lumps, pain, and itching lasting more than a few days, call Regeneration Medical Spa to discuss your symptoms. Following the treatment, we recommend all patients avoid strenuous activity, exposure to sunlight, and wearing makeup for at least 24 hours.
